Nicole Bishop: Serving God and America

Senior Nicole Bishop has always felt a strong connection with God. For the past nine years, she has attended Murrayville Baptist Church. She is now bus captain, and spends Sundays and Wednesdays riding around Murrayville wth bus drivers Kenny Howard and Stanley Jackson picking up and entertaining kids ranging in age from three to 14.
"We sing 'Jesus Song,' play games, and then I give them quizzes to see what they've learned from their Bible verses,"
Nicoles community service resume does not end with her church. In fact, she enlisted in the Armed Forces at age 17 and spent the summer before her senior year in training.
"I went through nine weeks of Basic Training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina, which was really more like boot camp,"
"I joined out of love for my country, even if its leaders do make some foolish decisions. I'm a firm believer in that if you want to take advantage of the God-given rights this country was founded on, you should be willing to stand up and fight for them. You cannot complain about something until you challenge it".
